Long meetings are expensive and exhausting for your team. See what the same standup costs with Popcorn Style.
Now try it with Popcorn Style
Popcorn Style gives everyone the same few seconds, picks who’s next at random and keeps the timer moving. Pick how many seconds a turn gets.
The plan for 8 people
The Team plan covers up to 12 people, so it fits your team of 8 with room to grow.
A month of the Team plan pays for itself in your first standup, and the time it saves is worth 38× what it costs.
Seats are for the people who plan and run meetings in the browser, in Zoom or in a Teams meeting. In Slack or Teams, everyone in the channel can join an async standup.
Ways to win the time back
Same seconds for everyone
On Normal, each person gets 17 seconds and the timer moves on. 8 people wrap up in 3m 16s, and nobody hogs the floor.
How meetings workRandom order keeps people listening
Popcorn Style picks who’s next at random, so nobody tunes out waiting for their turn and nobody gets skipped.
Skip the meeting, keep the standup
Swap one live standup a week for an async one in Slack or Teams and that day’s meeting goes away: about $1,005 a year, less the minute it takes to post. Popcorn Style nudges whoever hasn’t posted and wraps it up with an AI summary.
Popcorn Style for SlackNo roll call in Zoom or Teams
Open Popcorn Style from the meeting’s apps and everyone in the call is already on the list. The timer, who’s up and who’s next, without switching windows.
Popcorn Style for Microsoft TeamsLet a wheel pick who runs it
Rotate who hosts standup with a picker wheel, or schedule a spin in Slack or Teams so the rotation runs itself. Past 8 people, it’s worth splitting into smaller standups too.
Picker wheelsA standup people look forward to
Every so often, Popcorn Style hands someone a one of a kind Golden Popcorn Award for something they said in standup. Nobody knows who’s next.
Questions, answered
- How is the cost worked out?
- Each person’s salary becomes an hourly rate over a 40 hour week (2,080 hours a year). A standup costs that rate times how long it runs, times everyone in it. A year of standups is 48 weeks, leaving room for holidays and vacation.
- Why is the real number higher?
- The calculator only counts salary. Benefits, payroll taxes and overhead usually add a good chunk on top, and it doesn’t count the time it takes to get back into deep work after the meeting ends.
- How long does a standup take with Popcorn Style?
- Everyone gets the same number of seconds: 30 on easy, 17 on normal, 12 on hard, 8 on nightmare. The calculator adds those turns up and gives you an extra 60 seconds to say hi and hit start. It never shows a standup getting longer than it runs today.
- Which plan should we pick?
- The calculator suggests the smallest plan with a seat for everyone in the standup. Teams of up to 3 are free for good, and past 60 people it’s an Enterprise plan. Seats are for the people who plan and run meetings; in Slack, anyone in the channel can join an async standup.
- Can I share my numbers?
- Yes. The link in your address bar carries everything you set, so whoever opens it sees the same standup.
