Popcorn Style launches from the Apps menu, adds everyone in the meeting automatically, and shares the recap when you're done. Free for teams of up to 3. Canonical URL: https://popcorn.style/zoom Open Popcorn Style from the Apps menu and run a fast, fair standup without leaving your Zoom meeting. Everyone in the call is already on the list, the timer keeps every turn short, and the recap is ready before you hang up. ## How it works 1. Install Popcorn Style from the Zoom App Marketplace. Popcorn Style does not receive audio, video or chat data from your meetings. 2. In a meeting, click the Apps icon in Zoom's toolbar and choose Popcorn Style. 3. Pick a meeting type and difficulty level. Attendees show up as participants automatically; hide anyone sharing a room and add names by hand. 4. Start the timer. Popcorn Style picks speakers at random until everyone has gone. ## Free plan 4 free Zoom meetings a month, no account required. Any paid plan makes Zoom unlimited. ## Get started - Installation guide: [https://popcorn.style/guides/how-to-install-popcorn-style-for-zoom](https://popcorn.style/guides/how-to-install-popcorn-style-for-zoom) - Pricing: [https://popcorn.style/pricing](https://popcorn.style/pricing) - Trouble installing? [https://popcorn.style/support](https://popcorn.style/support) --- # How to set up Popcorn Style for Slack Add Popcorn Style to your Slack workspace, invite it to a channel and run your first async standup with /meet, or the Start a meeting shortcut. Canonical URL: https://popcorn.style/guides/popcorn-style-for-slack Popcorn Style runs async standups in a Slack thread, spins picker wheels with a play-by-play, and does it all from a quick slash command (`/meet`, `/spin` or `/popcorn`) or a one-tap shortcut in the composer. This guide takes you from install to your first standup in a few minutes. ## Installing Popcorn Style for Slack 1. **Add Popcorn Style to Slack** at https://popcorn.style/slack/connect. You'll be asked to sign in or create a Popcorn Style account first, so your workspace is linked to your team. Accounts are free for teams of up to 3, with no credit card required. If you aren't allowed to install apps, Slack sends the request to an admin. 2. **Choose a workspace and click Allow.** Popcorn Style can only see channels it has been added to, and it never reads your direct messages. It asks to: run the /meet, /spin and /popcorn commands; post messages and start threads in channels it's been added to; see who's in a channel; read the replies in its own standup threads; and update user groups so a rotation wheel can hand off something like @on-call. 3. **Invite it to a channel** with `/invite @Popcorn Style`. A public channel can be joined automatically the first time you run a command; a private channel needs the invite. Popcorn Style only ever posts in channels it's been added to. 4. **Run your first standup** with `/meet`. Halfway through, anyone who hasn't posted gets a nudge. After half an hour the thread is wrapped up with an AI summary. On the free plan your workspace gets 4 standups a month. 5. **Give it a personality** with `/popcorn personality [name]`. Choose from casual, concise, funny, motivational or professional. 6. **Put it on a schedule**, for example `/meet every Monday at 9am`, `/meet daily at 10am` or `/meet every Friday at 4pm America/New_York`. Times are in your Slack time zone unless you add one. 7. **Spin a wheel.** Build a wheel at https://popcorn.style/wheel, share it with your team, then run `/spin [name-of-wheel]` in Slack. 4 free spins a month in Slack; spinning in the browser is always free. ## Every command | Command | What it does | | --- | --- | | `/meet` | Start an async standup — or tap the Start a meeting shortcut | | `/meet every Monday at 9am` | Schedule a recurring async standup | | `/meet list` | See a list of scheduled standups in this channel | | `/meet list all` | See a list of all the scheduled standups you’ve made | | `/spin [name-of-wheel]` | Spin a wheel right here, with a play by play — or tap the Spin a wheel shortcut | | `/wheel list` | See the wheels shared with your team and the spins scheduled in this channel | | `/wheel [name-of-wheel] every Monday at 9am` | Schedule a recurring spin in this channel | | `/wheel [name-of-wheel] reset` | Put everyone back on the wheel | | `/wheel [name-of-wheel] status` | See who a rotation’s user group points at, and who’s up next | | `/wheel [name-of-wheel] edit` | Get a link to edit a wheel | | `/popcorn personality` | See the current personality for this channel | | `/popcorn personality [professional|casual|funny|motivational|concise]` | Set the personality for this channel. | `/popcorn meet`, `/popcorn wheel [name] spin` and `/popcorn help` all still work too. ## Uninstalling As soon as Slack tells us the app is gone, Popcorn Style deletes your standups, schedules, channels and personalities from our servers. We keep a small record of your free-plan usage so reinstalling doesn't reset your monthly allowance, and your wheels stay in your Popcorn Style account. ## Something not working? - "Add @Popcorn Style to this channel and try again": run `/invite @Popcorn Style` in the channel first. - "I couldn't find a wheel called…": only wheels shared with your team show up in Slack. Check the wheel's sharing settings. - Popcorn Style asks you to reconnect or reinstall: Slack occasionally needs a fresh set of permissions. Re-authorize it and nothing is lost. - Still stuck? [https://popcorn.style/support](https://popcorn.style/support) --- # How to install Popcorn Style for Zoom Install the Popcorn Style Zoom app, open it from the Apps menu in a meeting, and run your first standup. It keeps everyone engaged by making collaboration feel like a game. ## Installing the Zoom app 1. **Install the app** from the Zoom App Marketplace. The next screen asks you to grant permission to your Zoom account. Popcorn Style does not receive audio, video or chat data from your meetings. 2. **Log in to Popcorn Style.** Sign in or create an account to link Zoom to your team. It's optional at first: everyone gets 4 free Zoom meetings a month without an account, and any paid plan makes Zoom unlimited. 3. **Start your Zoom meeting and open Popcorn Style.** Click the Apps icon in Zoom's toolbar and choose Popcorn Style. If it isn't pinned, open the Apps panel, search for Popcorn Style, and click Open. 4. **Set your meeting up.** Pick a meeting type and set your difficulty level.
